A few days ago, I observed a lady sitting at a coffee shop table outside the shop. She was using a MacIntosh laptop. She was conversing with a friend who also was using a MacIntosh laptop. They could see each other on the laptop screen while talking to each other.
I own a Dell XPS M1210 with Windows XP Media. Is it possible for me to use the same feature as the MacIntosh users in the previous paragraph? How do I initiate the feature? It isn't necessary for me to communicate with a MacIntosh user. I would like to communicate with a PC user.
Thanks!

Webcams are easily available from any decent PC shop for peanuts. Both parties will naturally need one (whether they use a PC or a Mac is arbitrary) and the majority of instant messenger tools such as MSN Messenger feature built-in support for using webcams.

Thanks Neil. I looked for a webcam on the gal's laptop and couldn't see it anywhere. Is it integrated into the laptop? Any recommendations on which brand of webcam to buy? Thanks again.

Yeah, if its a MacBook or a MacBook pro its got an integrated camera, a great brand of webcams are Logitech, theirs are the most reliable, some even have a built in microphone.

Thanks for the help. I sort of figured some Macs had an integrated webcam.......will check out the Logitech webcams. I'll be in Kuwait and my gal will be here in the States. I suppose broadband is the best method to use a webcam?
