Type "web hosting" into google. It'll give you a whole bunch of sites that'll sell you domain names.
The most popular ones are

Your going to need A Domain Name + Hosting (stupid answer :whistling:)

1and1 $3 a month plain is very good value for money, and offers more than you are ever likely to use.

Then you actuality have to build the site. They do offer tools though to make this as easy as possible.

*Michael predicts a long thread on helping to build it

Something else you need is a name aka URL for the site. To find out if the one you want isn't taken just do this> Enter

http: //yourname.com or http: //www.yourname.com , but without the extra space

into the browser window and hit the go button. If it leads to a site then try another one, until you find one you like that isn't used.

That is a domain name, like we told him he needed. :whistling:

Normally they have a way of checking the domain when your registering it. Not every domain that shows up as not found is not owned by someone.

No, you need a webhost. There are many, the owner of this site also does domain hosting at http://www.GTGhosting.com. Extremely reasonable rates for what you get. Not many other hosts offer sql and cpanel access for $5 a month.

Oh, and don't do your page in front page.

You could try nvu http://www.nvu.com/
It is free, and should do most if not all the stuff fontpage does.
