So Im using Nero to burn a movie onto a DVDR so I can play it in my DVD player on TV. It is an .AVI file. I was able to do this a few times in the past but I just tried this 3 times and nothing. I get the data onto the DVDR as a data file but I cant view it on the TV DVD player. Can someone please help me out with this. (I know you're all laughing saying Im retarded. Yes I know. I deserve it haha)

Thanks guys

I suggest that you Google for ConvertXtoDVD. I use it for all my home movies and such from my digital camera and it converts and burns it and plays on even the more out-dated DVD players.

I converted the avi files to mpg (which is what a friend said DVD players use to play) I can burn it successfully on the DVD but iwhen I put it in the DVD player on my TV it gives me a Disc Error. What could be causing this? Its aggervating me.

Click start smart, hold the mouse over photo and video, click make your own DVD video

Click make movie

Click the blue button on the left, browse for the file, click the blue plus, click more, click video options, click DVD video

Set quality, (higher uses more disc space)

Set encoding mode to high, two passes, click OK, click yes to make this the default setting

Click next, check the movie fits, if not and it has to be on one disc, adjust the quality setting to suit, (or to automatic, fit to disc, which show the quality expected).

Click next until burn is an option

If you burn an mpeg file as data, Nero should tell you it won't play in DVD players

If you click start then all programmes then Nero, is start smart an option?

It should also be on the desktop and 6 doesn't differ from 7 as far as post 6 goes
