Hi - wonder if anyone can help
I've been through malware removal and am apparently all clean now (phew!!!!!!!!)

Anyway - I still have a problem with my page file usage

When I reboot the computer and look at the task manager I start out around 350 M
Gradually this increases to 800 or 900M and the thing locks up and I have to reboot (usually after a couple of days)

When I reboot and watch the manager I can see a programme IQPLM+5W5FQC..........etc that as it closes frees up anywhere from a 200 - 700 M of space depending on how bad it got

Any ideas what's going on?

Really apppreciate everyone'e help here - this is a really great service

Thanks again
Rob

This is a little bit of a shot in the dark however you may have something going on with your memory.

Please Download Burn and run Memtest86

Please run it overnight and tell us any errors it may come up with. And how many.

Are you talking about your commit charge when you press CTRL+alt+Del ?

What is the commit charge you should not be using that much pagefile if you have adequate memory.

Thanks Tuxmaster
The commit charge pretty much parallels the page file usage
When pf is around 600M so is the commit charge
There's nothing in the processes runnning that is using anything like that (biggest is about 20M or so)

If I can see this programme that is closing and freeing up the memory as it closes
"IQPLM+5W5FQC........."
Is there any way I can try and find it and kill it?
Also it's always exactly the same programme that's got hold of the memory - makes me feel it's something running I just can't see

Thanks for your help
Let me know

I just restarted now and the commit charge was up to 750M
About 500 of it was used up by
IQPLM+5W5FQCDHCWIVG24+def......
When it restarted it wasn't using anything at all

I can't see it in the task manager - can't see it in start up or Hijack This - basically invisible, but it keeps chewing up the memory

Can you suggest another board I should take this to?

Thanks for all your help

If you want a more detailed list of what is running on your machine look in System Information>Loaded Modules and in msconfig. I've found baddies that way.

Thanks everybody
I can't find it in ms config or loaded modules
The only way I can see it is when I'm closing down I get a box saying "closing programme" and giving me the name
IQPLM+5W5FQC...etc
As it closes the memory usage drops by 400 M or so
I've tried searches and all sorts but still can't find it

Thanks

There is nothing in google that is even remotely related to IQPLM+5W5FQCDHCWIVG24+def...... unless you are interested in genetics.

Please return to the malware forum. They are the people who deal with such problem.
