Ok, so this isn't your basic prot forward to play games behind a lan, I am in a halls of residence at uni, and they have blocked ports so that I can't play games, although they said if I could find a way around I am free to do so. Unfortunately the person I spoke to wasn't very technically minded, so they said "We have 2 ports blocked.. One for games and one for file transfer"

So I can't use FTP/SHH etc either

How can I play games across the internet behind this router, considering I don't know what type of router it is, what the username and password are, and I don't have a dedicated server to do things with, like host a proxy.

Any help will be welcomed, and I will be answer any questions I can

Cheers

even though the person you talked to said "if you can find a way around...you're free to do so"...this still seems to be a school policy....otherwise they wouldn't be blocking those ports....and without them giving you access to their router (good luck) you're not gonna get the settings you want changed.....
