Win XP SP2
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz
2.79 GHz, 1.00 GB Ram
Office 2003

I'm having an issue with Outlook 2003. Ordinary tasks, such as deleting a message and moving to the next one, take an extraordinary amount of time. For instance, my inbox currently has 14 items in it, yet if I try to skip down to another message I have to wait 10-20 seconds for Outlook to catch up. I have done a complete reinstall, run reg edits, spybot, et. al., and no relief. This is an office computer, so Thunderbird really isn't an option. Any ideas what I might do to resolve this problem?

All the best,

PiggyProbe

Hi piggyprobe.

Is your email account Exchange, POP3, or something else?

Do you have Antivirus software scanning your Inbox? If so, disable Real-Time scanning and see if that affects anything.

Have you ever NOT had this issue? If so, what might have happened between then and now?

Is it only the Inbox that has the problem, or are the other folders also involved?

Is your POP3 email running through an Exchange server?

What Antivirus software are you running?

Outlook 2003 has always been excruciatingly slow? Is it an upgrade or new install? How long have you had it installed?

Is your computer part of a domain?
