can't find workgroups after startup

OK, I have 2 dell computers wired to a wireless router. I have a Dell laptop that can access wireless. No problems getting online with any computer. The problem is this: Once laptop is off for a while and I turn it back on, I can get connected no problem. The problem becomes I can't see my workgroup from laptop or main computer. I have to go to the main computer, shut off AVG free anti-virus. Check for workgroups, then I see all computer. Then I can see workgroup from laptop. I turn back on AVG and all is fine until the next time I shut off laptop and get back on later. Any Ideas???
