hello you intellegent people

i have rebooted Win 98se on my computer.I get an error saying i have no dial tone make sure your modem is connected to the phone line which it is.

i went into win98 troubleshooter and checked win98 does not detect my modem.

I have been into Control Panel, Modems. the following modem is set-up HSP56Micro Modem.I go to Properties set -up is Port to COM 4

My dialing properties are dialing from a New connection, Country is Australia area code 02.

I go to Systems,Device Manager, Ports and COM and LPT is there its OK.

I have also Verified Ports COM and LPT hardware profile is disabled theres no check in the box

Iam at a lost as to why my modem will not connect? (help)
