Hello

Whenever I do a search in google and click on the link, I am usually re-directed to a different site. I have seen that other people on the forum have had this problem and was wondering if you could help me.

I followed your online instructions, and ran ATF Cleaner and created a new System Restore point. I also ran AVG Antispyware (but this crashed halfway through the scan, uninstalling and re-installing doesn't help), and SUPERantispyware (which does a full scan but then gets stuck when it is trying to remove bugs and wont proceed any further). I ran Panda Activescan and include the log below. I then tried Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware SE Personal which were reasonably effective and removed some things. Finally, I ran Norton Antivirus which I already had on my computer, but this only managed to detect and remove a Tracking Cookie.

Below are included PandaActiveScan log, HJT log and HJT uninstall list. Thank you very much for your help, most appreciated.

Nikki

Hi hobbit Sorry for the delay in replying, you have a few infections here so I will try to clear the two major ones at first and then work from there

First off you will need to copy this post to a text file for reference as at times you will be offline

TO BEGIN

Please download FixWareout from here:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. If your firewall gives an alert, (because this tool will download an additional file from the internet), please don't let your firewall block it, but allow it instead.
Then you will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) on completion of the fix.

NEXT

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wondizuyax] C:\WINDOWS\System32\asvoyrgt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [*windows update] wruaclt.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [*windows update] wruaclt.exe

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.113.90 85.255.112.165

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

FOLLOWED BY

Please download the OTMoveIt http://download.blee...er/OTMoveIt.exe by OldTimer.
Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\asvoyrgt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wruaclt.exe

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply with a new Hijack log.
Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

AND FINALLY

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Logs required are : Report.txt, Combofix log, OTMoveit log and a new Hijackthis :whistling:

Hello Essexboy,

I've done everything as you said, and google seems to be working :help: I've posted all four logs below, please let me know about any other bugs. The only difference was that after Fixwareout and running Hijackthis again, the lines beginning 04 were all in the log, but not those beggining 017. Thanks sooooo much for your help

Looking better a few more thing to do though :

WARNING these fixes are designed for this user only and may cause damage if run on an uninfected machine

First we must back up the entire registry. To do this

REGISTRY BACKUP

Go START > RUN and type in REGEDIT then press your enter key.
When Regedit is open ensure that 'my computer' is highlighted in the left pane.
Go to FILE and select EXPORT.
Check the 'all' button at the bottom of the screen to backup the entire registry.
You will need to select a location to save the exported registry (it will be saved as a single file) I would suggest the Desktop
Choose the FILE NAME as Oldreg
In the drop down box called SAVE AS TYPE select registration files (*.reg).
Then click SAVE
This will create a file on your desktop called Oldreg.reg Posted Image

REGISTRY FIX

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runservices]
*windows update=-

[HKEY_USERS\.default\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run]
*windows update=-

Next you will need to create the repair registry fix to do that copy and paste ALL of the above in the quote box to a notepad file. Ensure there is no space above the REGEDIT4.
Then in notepad go to FILE > SAVE AS and in the dropdown box select SAVE AS TYPE to ALL FILES
Then in the FILE NAME box type fix.reg
This will create a fix.reg file on your desktop Posted Image

To use this file you will need to right click the icon and select merge, accept the warning if it appears and you are done.

FOLLOWED BY

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [*windows update] wruaclt.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis.

THEN

Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\dnsbak.reg
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d9caps.dat
C:\wruaclt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\wruaclt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wruaclt.exe
C:\asvoyrgt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\asvoyrgt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\asvoyrgt.exe

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply with a new Hijack log.
Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

NEARLY DONE

Please run the F-Secure Online Scanner

Note: This Scanner is for Internet Explorer Only!
  • Follow the Instruction Here for installation.
  • Accept the License Agreement.
  • Once the ActiveX installs,Click Full System Scan
  • Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
  • The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
  • Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Logs required this time are : OTMoveit, F-Secure and a new Hijackthis :whistling:

Much better now Hobbit, just a little tidying up to do :

Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINS\SVCHOST.EXE

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

______________________________________________

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3

Then download and install the latest Java version from here http://www.majorgeek...e2de236363794fa

______________________________________________

Double click OTMoveIt once again and you should see a CleanUp! button, press that button, you may get prompt by your firewall that OTMoveIt wants to contact internet, allow this, a cleanup.txt will be downloaded, a message dialog will ask you if you want to proceed with the cleanup process, click Yes. This will delete all the tools you have downloaded plus itself

______________________________________________

Now to get you off to a good start we will re-set your restore points so that all the bad stuff is gone for good. Then if you need to restore at some stage you will be clean. There are several ways to reset your your restore point but this is my method:

1. Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore.
2. On the dialogue box that appears select Create a Restore Point
3. Click NEXT
4. Enter a name e.g. Clean
5. Click CREATE

You now have a clean restore point, to get rid of the bad ones:

1. Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > Disk Cleanup.
2. In the Drop down box that appears select your main drive e.g. C
3. Click OK
4. The System will do some calculation and the display a dialogue box with TABS
5. Select the More Options Tab.
6. At the bottom will be a system restore box with a CLEANUP button click this
7. Accept the Warning and select OK again, the program will close and you are done

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
  • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Could you now give me a final update on how your system is running :whistling:

Hi

Done everything, ta very much :whistling: System seems to be running a lot faster, can still be slow on startup but is much better than before. Realise i have a lot of crap on my computer and havent defragmented for a long time, so probs need to do that.

Do you have any advice about the security settings in Internet Explorer.? Last time i tried to set them to a high level i had trouble viewing videos, getting Active X controls and logging into certain sites such as facebook.com. I downloaded SpywareBlaster as you said and enabled the protection for IE. Or should i just use Firefox instead? lol

Oh, and do you think I can get rid of some of the AntiSpyware programs I have, as I seem to berunning 5 or 6 at the moment!?!

Have provided a OtMoveIt Results and a final HiJackThis log below. Thanks very much for your help

Hi again Hobbit glad to hear things are better as for Antispy programmes. My current set up is MSDefender active on start Superantispyware as an on demand scanner. Which in my humble opinion is all you need, 1 resident and 1 on demand. I have IE7 on medium security and it works well for me.

As for a tidy up this is a programme I use myself and if you follow the routine below it should get a tad better

Prefetch is clickable for more information

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Reboot

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run defragmenter

Download, install and run
Tune Up 2007 Trial

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Disable the anti virus programme then click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Check the anti virus programme is running

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

Click optimize and improve then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor

That should get you going :whistling: any further queries then just shout
