I am fed up with using the "dell" laptop copy of XP pro on my desktop. I have a new retail copy of XP pro now. Can I use booting through the new XP disk to the "repair" option without loosing all my other files? The old disk is xp pro sp1, the new retail is xp pro sp2. Or would I be better off saving all my files on another drive first? Or another option, I am adding another hard drive to my desktop, could I install the new XP Pro on the new hd then transfer the files from the old hd to the new hd after the instalation?
Thanks ahead of time!!!
