After the computer did an auto update it won't boot past the Windows XP start page. I can boot in safe mode and everything works there. I tried a system restore and still won't boot.

I have a CD for XP home edition but I had some work done on the motherboard and it came back with Media Edition so I don't think I can use the CD to repair.

Want do I need to do???

Do you know what updates were applied to the computer.

give a try on Clean Boot Troubleshooting
See if that helps.
