Recently I installed Norton Internet Security 2005. Yahoo Messenger was working fine and telling me when I had e-mails. Then it just stopped. Norton doesn't do free support and Yahoo is looking into it (which could take eons). Thought I'd see if anyone else has had this happen.

hi mysterybks,

As I was reading your post, I thought off my own problem and resolution ;)

Take a look at this posting and answer

In other words, I would suggest the following steps:
1. update MS
2. update Norton with latest definitions
3. update Yahoo messenger

Rebooted, scan norton and then try yahoo messenger again.

I am using Yahoo messenger 6.0 and used to have a problem too, new emails not being announced...........but now it DOES :tazz:

Hope this helps,
Thanks, B

Try bartenders35's advice, and if still no luck then Norton's firewall is probably blocking it.
