Very strange... I was getting the BSoD at startup yesterday. I had an extra 120g Seagate that I bought a while back but never used, so I took out the old main drive and replaced it. Did a fresh install of Win2000, and all was good.

Today, I get home from work, boot up... all is well. Needed to restart after resetting my cable modem, and *boom* right back to the same problem. I can boot up in safe mode, but that's it. This is the message I get at the BSoD:

***STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005, 0xAFC676BB6, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) KMODE_EXCEPTTION_NOT_HANDLED***

If anyone could give me some options short of turning it into a paperweight, I'd much appreciate it!

BTW, this is a homebuilt from Newegg parts... AMD Athlon processor.

This stop error is usually caused by third party drivers - in your case those that power your cable modem. The usual solution is to grab newer drivers.

I don't hook up directily to the modem.. I go over a wireless LAN using D-Link devices. You think I should grab updated drivers for the D-Link stuff?
