Hi, im buying a new gameing computer and they offer a range of gfx cards. I cant afford a 8800GTS and i read that a 8500GT has half the performance as a 8600. So i just wanted to know how a 8500GT compares to the GeForce 7000 series. Should i buy a 8500GT 512mb?

If you can't afford the 8800 series stick to the DX9 cards. You can get better performance with DX9 cards for the same prices, also I have doubts that the 8500 or 8600 series will be very successful with DX10, they just don't have the horse power to back up the needs of DX10.
