cant type in yahoo messenger

this is a rather strange problem. i start yahoo mesenger, click in the spaces where the details are to be entered (username and password) but i am unable to type anything; it is as if there's no response form the keyboard :S this is very odd and i dont understand why this is happening. (it happens on my laptop- Win XP Home SP2). i tried reinstalling but that didnt make any difference. any clue on what's wrong?

im not sure badbeen but welcome to gtg. have you talked with the tech support at yahoo? sounds like graphical user interface situtation. does this happen when you fill out a form or anything?

no it doesnt happen anywhere else other than in yahoo messenger. i will try sending Yahoo an email but currently i am quite busy :whistling:
Oh and by the way, whats that 'welcome' for? i am quite an old member here lol
