Every time I attempt to install Call of Duty, the installation process gets to the second disc and I am faced with an error message that says:

The File D:\setup\data\main\pak1 pk3 could not be opened

After this I am not able to continue my installation.Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can solve this problem? Any help would be most appreciative.

Try cleaning your second CD and then install it again. If you have another CD drive, then try using your secondary drive.

Thanks for the advice, but no such luck, I still received the same error message. Any more help would be appreciated.

try coping the cd's to your hard drive and running the install from there.

This is a common problem with the "Game of the year" edition.
