I went into Folder Options, then File Types, then New and typed in .exe (It was at the recommendation of someone who obviously didn't know what they were talking about). Now the computer fails to fuction properly. All of the icons, i.e. Explorer, Anitvirus, Media Player, ect. are all the same generic icon. It won't allow me to a system restore in DOS mode, or otherwise. I wouldv'e done a reinstall, but there is data on it that I cannot afford to lose and the software for that data seems to be obsolete. Any suggestion????
