I hope someone can help me.
My cd drive is not reading any discs. It was working fine yesterday and then just stopped last night.
When I do ipconfig it says "Media Disconnected" and when i try ipconfig /renew it says "unable to contact your DHCP server".
I am able to connect to the internet no problem.

Can anyone advise me how to 're-connect' my media.

If you have a wired NIC and receive "Media disconnected" error, check these:

1. Use ipconfig /renew to obtain a new IP.
2. Make sure the green light is on when connecting to a hub/switch.
3. Update the NIC driver.
4. Check the security settings
5. Try to assign a static IP.
