Hi when I open a link on google search it redirects me to another site then I have to go back and click on the link again for it to work.

Hi, and welcome back to Geeks to Go. You are infected with something called wareout, which is causing your redirection issues.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts.

Please go to Start > Run and type msconfig. Under the General tab, please make sure Normal Startup is selected. Under the Startup tab, please make sure everything in there is checked. Click OK, and then reboot your system.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log into this topic.

That looks much better. Are you still having the problems? I'd like you to run an online virus scan to make sure there's nothing else hiding.

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan - you must use Internet Explorer for this to work.

• Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
• A new window will open...click the Check Now button
• Enter your Country
• Enter your State/Province
• Enter your e-mail address and click send
• If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
• Select either Home User or Company
• Click the big Scan Now button
• It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
• When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report.
