i have a problem with my operating system.
basically what happens is that whenever i turn my
computer on normal setting, after five minutes the screen
turns completely white and i can't even exit it. the only
way i can close it is by using the power button.

is there a solution for this?

please help me...

also, did this just randomly start happening or was there something you did like install anything. it might be video card driver issues. maybe try to find out the model vid card you have and see if there is a driver update for Vista on there website. also as tuxmaster asked, is it a laptop or desktop and what make/model is it?

it is a laptop. dell inspiron 1405 is the model.
i checked the video card and the model is
mobile intel 945GM Express Chipset family but
when i tried to check if there is an update for it
they said that it is already in the updated version.

the problem just randomly happened three days ago

Try running the Dell Diagnostics.

Turn off the computer then Turn if back on by pressing the FN+Power.

When it gets to the 32bit diagnostics choose custom test. Then choose Video Test.

Report back any error messages/results.

If those tests passed uninstall your video card drivers anything to do with your intel graphics in both add/remove programs and also device manager.

Then reinstall your video card drivers.

i did the test and everything passed so i uninstalled
and reinstalled the video card driver but after doing so
the same problem still happened. i still can't go on the
internet while running in normal mode and the white,
blank internet page still pops out of nowhere.

i followed the steps in your clean boot page and when i did that i was left with
two items. everytime i tried to uncheck it and restart the computer they would
still be runing after the restart. these items are "Group Policy Client" and
"McAfee Real-time Scanner". do you think these are the problems? is there a
way i can remove them?
