From one day to the next, my friend's computer didn't power up anymore.

It worked fine the night before, but the next morning pushing the power button had no response whatsoever.

I really don't know what happened.

Is there an "easy" way to trouble-shoot?

I am not really familiar with the "inside" of a computer, so if you suggest opening the case, please be specific about what to look for.
Thank you so much! Any help is very much appreciated.

That happens sometimes with my server but I get it to turn back on. All I do is unplug the power cable and turn off the power supply switch for a few seconds.. do that the other way around.. turn off the switch then unplug. Hook everything back up. You've probably tried that by now but it works for me.
