I'm looking to build a cheap system using a Brisbane 3600+ CPU, and some DDR2 memory that has become very cheap recently. I will be overclocking it, but I have no need for SLI, and don't want to pay for it. I think the best bet is an nVidia 570 chipset (I also have no need for the dual 16-bit PCI-X channels that the 590 offers), but I haven't followed the recent ATI offerings very well, so I may have missed something (don't really need or want onboard video). So what's the best bet for an inexpensive, well overclocking AM2 motherboard?
