Help! Ati Radeon x700 pro not working

I have a compaq sr1403wm with 2 gigs of ram and a 1.8 processor and i have a ati radeon x700 pro i try to plug it into my agp slot but nothing happens the screen stays blank ans when i try to the any catalsyt control center it is telling me that i am missing some hardware or software couldnt be found please someone help me?

Welcome to GTG killursora, is this a new video card? Are you replacing an older AGP card, or did your computer have onboard graphics and you are switching to the ATI radeon AGP card?
