turn on computer,connect thumb drive. works perfectly.remove thumb drive,reinstall ,computer does not read. go to device mgr,usb cntrls,usb mass storage device is yellow.click trblshoot and get: cannot load device driver for this hardware. previous instance of this driver is still in memory, code 38.If i restart computer thumb drive works till reinstalled.works perfect on other computers. Completly stumped. mrvince

Download this tool and run it, see what it says. It might be a dodgy stick, or it could be on its way out, or it could be a problem with Windows. How old is the stick? What brand is it? Have you tried using different USB ports, like one on the back of the computer (if it's a desktop)?
