Outlook 2003 - Calendar reminders not popping up

User has appointments in their calendar but the reminders are not popping up. The Tools > Options in Outlook > Under the Preference tab > Calendar section, ‘Default reminder’ is checked and we have tried "outlook /cleanreminders" which didn't work.

Can you please help?

Hi,

How do you use outlook /cleanreminders? Is this a command you would use at either a Command Prompt or as a Run Command?

Thanks

I tried "outlook /cleanreminders" from a command prompt (on my XP, Outlook 2003) from the directory where Outlook.exe is present. In my case, it's C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11. It resolved the issue! Thanx to the original poster of the solution!

I appreciate the help others have given here (and realize that no new posts have been made for some time) however, I found another solution should the run commands posted here not work. There was a user that I support who had issues with her Outlook reminders not displaying any longer. I tried the outlook /clearreminders and the outlook /resetfolders and neither one worked. If that is the case with you, try this:
Open Outlook
Click Tools
Options
Other tab
Select Advanced Options under the section titled General
Down at the bottom select Reminder Options
Make sure that Display the reminder is checked.

This should take care of your problem. If not, you have bigger issues.

Hope this helps!!

I too appreciate the help, but minor command line differences are important. For my computer, the proper directory was C:\Program Files\MicroSoft Office\OFFICE11 as above. However, the command that was required was not outlook / resetfolders, but rather Outlook.exe /ResetFolders . I went through a number of permutations and MS Office online help before finally arriving at that successful combination. Also, for those who may not remember, the command prompt is available through the Accessories menu under Programs.

I might add that the advice given at MS Outlook help, which was to click Start, then Run, then type in outlook / cleanreminders or outlook / resetfolders , did not work. Outlook returned error messages on both.
