Vista Ultimate Requirements

I looked at microsoft's website, and read that a pc should have 1gb of memory.
i have 512 of memory, and 512 of ram, would this be good enough to run vista ultimate?

First off, memory and RAM are the same thing, at least in this context.

As for your PC, it falls under the range of "Vista capable" (assuming the rest of your specs meet the Vista capable requirements.) This means it can run Vista, just not with any of the highend features. You need at least 1GB of RAM for that. So, it would be pointless to buy Vista Ultimate, as you couldn't use many of its extra features. You should save yourself a lot of money and get Vista Home Basic, or upgrade your computer.

However, be aware that with 512mb RAM, Vista will probably not run very smoothly...

I started on ultimate with 1GB RAM it ran ok but added another GB and runs sweet now
