I have XP Pro which my Grandfather bought for me a year or so ago. He paid a lotta money.. I reccently ran a geniune test (WGA), and I failed the test.. I am not in the financial state to go out and buy a new copy just to make Microsoft happy.

Is it such a big deal if I failed the WGA test? If I never genuise my copy, will I go to jail?

you won't go to jail...but you won't be getting help here....there's a chance that MS will fine you for the OS....if you can prove that the software was purchased legally but that you were "tricked" by the reseller...MS might replace your license or at least give you a discount
