Firefox weirdest error so far.

Okay so firefox has this tendency to lose its connectivity mid-usage.

But when it occurs is always different. Could be 5 minutes after logging in to my comp, could be 2 days.

My 'internet' itself is still online, but firefox cannot browse pages any longer. It'll say unable to establish connection, but this only happens to firefox. IE still works afterwards.

edit: Correction, IE fails to work as well.

check and see if your firewall is blocking them...

click on start...run..type in ...cmd...press enter or click on OK...in the dos box type in ipconfig /flushdns then press enter..
be sure you put a space between ipconfig and the /
type in exit
reboot...
you should not be without a firewall...I use and recommend zone alarm ... its free

Rebooting now. I use Comodo Firewall.

And i thought you should know, i found out that i lose connectivity entirely. It happens at random and i usually log out and back in to recover it but its annoying.

by this do you mean reboot...or just shut down firefox and reload firefox...

By this i mean i log out of my computer via the "Log off" option and simply log back in. It takes 30 seconds but its annoying every time

if it happens again ..try just shutting down firefox and relaunch it...
has your computer been doing anything else wierd or out of the normal...
did you add any hardware or software recently...

No new hardware recently. Relaunching firefox doesn't work. The whole connectivitiy just goes offline.

what message did you get when you flushed the dns cashe...
try this..
TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

For these commands click on Start.... Run..... type in...CMD ....click OK..to open a command prompt box

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults...type in ... netsh winsock reset catalog .... press ...enter

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults...type in...... netsh int ip reset reset.log ... press ...enter
