I have a fairly new Dell with XP, Media Player, Win Amp, iTunes, Quicktime, etc... on it and still can't get a DVD to play in the DVD drive. Yes, it is a DVD drive, not CD only. I tried downloading the new media player (11) and even tried downloading decoder software...it still won't play. Is it my drivers?

None of the programs you've listed play DVDs out of the box. You may be able to get plug-ins for some of them.
Alternatively a programme such as PowerDVD comes with everything you need.
