I had a folder with quite a few folders with pictures in it and a video and something messed up while i was rearranging stuff and now it is gone

I checked the recycle bin and performed a search and ran a file recovery program but it did not work that great

and I cant find it.

Can anyone tell me where to check ?
Or with what program i can find it ?

thanks ahead,

You can use the search feature in Windows for this. Go to Start and click search. If you select Picture, Music, or Video and then check the "pictures and photos" box and click seach it will show all the image files on your computer.

Then it very possible that the folder/files were deleted since you have no system restore point to fall back on and doing what Titan8990 suggested didn't turn up your missing files. Were you searching by file/folder name(s)? If a file recovery program did not find your missing folder/files then there is a possibility they have been over written by now. Could check with others to see what they recommend unless Titan8990 has more ideas.

Let me list your link in the Text Support forum and see if anyone will come up with any new ideas. If you have saved/installed any files/software since the lost of your files, they may have been overwritten and recovery will be impossible without some expensive recovery techniques.

When you are searching for them, are you selecting to search for hidden files also? Something might have happened and your system is hiding them from you...

Maybe not... If you don't find them with this, then do an advanced search: Start > Search > For Files or Folders, click All Files and Folders, click More Advanced Options, then tick the box that says "Search hidden files and folders".

I think this Active File Recovery looks at deleted files only, but not 100% sure on that. See what happens.
