I have a Dell inspiron 4000 laptop which is a pretty old unit but I just recently bought a 108Mbps mini pci wireless card; model TL-WN 66G Ver 1.0. I removed the original card disconnecting the two jacks that were connected to it and installed the wireless card which had no plugs for any wire connections. I installed the drivers that came with it and everything seemed to go well, I can go into device manager and verify that it is working properly with no conflicts. When I go into network and dial-up connections and try to activate the connection it tells me that the network cable is unplugged, can anyone out there tell me what I am doing wrong or please point me in the right direction?
