problem with windows mobile 5.0

hi,

i have a samsung blackjack loaded w/ windows mobile 5.0 and it keeps freezing.

it gets stuck on the windows mobile start screen. this all started when it froze on me out of nowhere; i can't turn it off with the power button, so i removed the battery to turn it off. I can turn it on using hte power button but it gets stuck on the windows mobile start screen and i can only turn it off by removing the battery.

any idea on how to fix it?

im assuming its an OS or firmware problem
