Hello,

I install some programs fine and they work for the first couple of minutes, after that they seem to be 'dead'. I can click on the shortcut [or the .exe itself] and the hourglass comes on for about 1/2sec then disappears.

Any thoughts/same problems?

Thanks

Can you name all the programs that are not working?
Also can you name where you got the programs from?

We cant help you with uTorrent. Please read our Terms of Use. We do not help with P2P programs.

As for your other issue, Ill move this thread to the Applications Forum where you can get help with a specific application.

It installs, i double click on it, works fine IF i leave the program running [window minimized] but as soon as i close it or reboot, it goes back to being dead ... very frustrating to say the least

the weird thing is, it's not only my PC, i can install a fresh copy of XP and it still has the same problem, however i think it might be SP2 as my sister does not have SP2 and her's works fine, so perhaps SP2 is preventing the app from working, no idea.

Thanks for all your help tuxmaster, appreciate it.

Possibly that may be the issue.

Did you upgrade to there latest version and see if that helps. If it has a problem with Sp2 I am sure they would have it fixed in there latest upgrade.

Yeah I have the latest version however I do not have all windows updates because here in South Africa we pay alot for things we download. I pay R449pm [About $64] for a hspda line with a 2GB cap :/

By the time I am 84 we should have uncapped ADSL :whistling:
