Hey,
I hope someone can help me. ;) Thinking rpcss was a spyware service i deleted it with the "sc delete rpcss" command. ;) After doing this, I installed some patches from the windowsupdate site. (still not SP2 , I'm running XP PRO SP1) After rebooting , my taskbar was gone and several services didn't start anymore (dependent to rpcss ?? :tazz: ) What I need is all information about the rpcss service so I can install and start this (and the dependent services) again..
I tried to install service pack 2 but it couldn't install it because the cryptographic service wasn't started (to verify the install file). Is there a way to skip verifying it ?
