I tried to use ubuntu and when I saw that my video card was not going to cut it I deleted the partition I had made for ubuntu. Somehow in the process I hosed up the Grub file and now the p.c. is dead and won't boot past the deadly grub error 22. I don't know what to do now. My win xp is not usable either.
Thanks for your suggestions

Are you able to boot from disk?

If so, start up your windows xp disc.
Select recovery console. (see here for how to)
Then at the command prompt type fdisk /mbr
restart computer
