Hey Tech guys, I need your help.

When I try to uninstall Nero 7 Demo, it never works...always comes up with an error.

I tried the general cleaning tool by Nero, but it didn't work.

I attached the error.

thanks guys :whistling:

If you downloaded the trial from the internet, can you download it again, try to reinstall it or repair it, then try the uninstall again.

On the other hand, if you installed it from a CD put it in when you are running the uninstall. Many installations require this.

I did use that before.

I did it again...now everything is fine, except I can't delete this folder full of Nero stuff....says access is denied. Not really sure how to get rid of this...if I used Killbox, I can't delete the killbox file...talk about annoying.

Have you looked through msconfig / start up for ahead / Nero entries, remove the ticks, click apply and reboot. CCleaner will have the option to remove start up entries, usually the conflict driver

Where is the folder?

To delete stuff like that I use this Unlocker

It works well if Keiths suggestion doesnt solve it.

Ok, so that didn't really work. Unlocker said no handle found.

I have C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\Nero

I tried to move the Ahead folder and it didn't budge.

I think this has to do with the Nero BackItup thing, but Im not sure...

This is getting annoying.

When it says no locking handle, have you got a drop down menu arrow where you can choose delete, which will probably say it can delete on reboot

Nero has been known to keep a log file in the Temp folder, if this goes then it won't run the clean tool

Click start then run, type regedit then press enter, look for

HKEY_CURRENT_USER / software then delete the Ahead key, you shouldn't find nero in this list but check

Then

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / software to delete the ahead and Nero keys

Restart the PC then use search, including hidden and system files, you should have other folders in application data, move any ahead and nero folders to a folder in my documents, although they may delete now

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit, select all, right click any file, click delete, confirm

Reboot to safe mode and select the administrator account, try them then
