Ok, It didn't show up because it changed again and wasn't there...did you reboot or something?

Run Killbox:
  • Double-click KillBox.exe to start KillBox.
  • Select the "Delete on Reboot" option.
  • Copy the all of the following files files at once:

    C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
    c:\windows\system32\tvjmsuf.exe
    c:\windows\SvcProc.exe

  • In Killbox go to "File" > "Paste from Clipboard."
  • Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Full Path of File to Delete" box and make sure these files are there together. Mention in your next post if one is not.
  • Click the red button with a white X on it.
  • At the prompt entitled "Delete on Reboot" select yes.
  • At the prompt entitled "Delete next Reboot" select yes.
  • Your computer will reboot.
After the reboot, post a new HijackThis log in a reply to this topic. Do not reboot, log off, or mess with the infection until killing instructions are posted.

by the way if you stop the regenerating .exe from running or delete it it just regenerates into a new name... you dont have to reboot for it to make a new name

Only the Nail.exe file showed up when I pasted from the clipboard. Upon rebooting I received an error message (again) that this Nail.exe file could not be found. I have been logging off, but not shutting down. Now I will just disconnect my intranet line from the back of the tower and keep the computer logged in. Here is my new log:

Looks like this could be a new variant...

Go to "Start" > "Run."
In the box type regedit and hit <ENTER>.
When the registry editor pops up go to "File" > "Export."
At the bottom under "Export range" select "Selected branch" and copy the following to the box just below it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors

In the "File name" box type monitors.
In the "Save as type" box make sure "Registration Files (*.reg)" is selected.
Save it to your desktop.

Attach the "monitors.reg" file to your next post or open it in Notepad and post the full contents.

Ok, I am attaching the file as you said. I am not sure at this point if you are giving direction to me or to the other person that is posting on this thread. Being that you started with me, I am going to assume the directions are for my use. I hope what I have done so far is not going to mess up my computer.

Appears jjsdirtybird's comment on drpmon.dll was correct.

Run Killbox:
  • Double-click KillBox.exe to start KillBox.
  • Select the "Delete on Reboot" option.
  • Copy all of the following files files at once:

    C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
    c:\windows\system32\cnurkr.exe
    c:\windows\SvcProc.exe
    c:\windows\system32\DrPMon.dll

  • In Killbox go to "File" > "Paste from Clipboard."
  • Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Full Path of File to Delete" box and make sure these files are there together. Mention in your next post if one is not.
  • Click the red button with a white X on it.
  • At the prompt entitled "Delete on Reboot" select yes.
  • At the prompt entitled "Delete next Reboot" select yes.
  • Your computer will reboot.
Post a new HijackThis log in a reply to this topic. Do not reboot or log off until further instructions are posted.

These two files did not show up in the drop down box when I pasted from the clipboard:
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
c:\windows\system32\cnurkr.exe

The last few times you have told me to reboot I get the following error message:

Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

Here is my new log:

I think we almost have it...

Please run HijackThis, do a scan, and place a check next to the following items to be fixed:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vdikjtu] c:\windows\system32\cnurkr.exe
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - c:\windows\SvcProc.exe (file missing)

Close all browsers and windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked".

Go to "Start" > "Run" and type services.msc
Find System Startup Service and double-click it.
If it is started click "Stop" and change the startup type to "Disabled" if it is not already.
Click "OK" and exit services.msc.

Dowload and install ewido security suite from http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Run it. Click "update", click "Start update", and download the latest updates for it.
Click "scanner." Make sure your C drive is under the search list and click "Start."
Clean anything it finds and allow it to make backups.
When it is finished, save the log to your desktop - I want to see it.

Reboot your computer and post a new HijackThis log in a reply to this topic and the full contents of the ewido log.

Canoeingkidd knows exactly what he is doing, so don't worry. The ewidoscan takes care of that. :tazz:
