Ok, I did what you said except I had a problem with ewido. It scanned through 100% but kept scanning. I let it clean everything that popped up. It ended up stopping and an error message popped up asking me if I wanted to send an error report. Regardless, ewido did save everything into the quarantine, however I could not figure out how to make a log with it. It wouldn't let me copy or paste anything from the quarantine. Here is my new hijack this log:

Did you try running ewido again? If you didn't you should try it now...and there should be an option to save the report when it is finished scanning.

Open Notepad, and copy the contents of the following box to a new file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ZepMon]
Save it as fix.reg
Save as type: "All files"
Save it to your desktop.
Go to your desktop and double-click "fix.reg" and merge the infomation with the registry.

Run HijackThis.
From the scanning screen, click "Config."
At the top click "Misc Tools."
Click "Delete an NT service."
Enter SvcProc and click "OK."

Oh, and as far as McCaffee, I uninstalled some of the mcafee programs, and when I tried to get rid of the last one, it told me I couldn't uninstall it until the service center was uninstalled. I can't find any other mcafee items to uninstall!

Perhaps you mean SecurityCenter? Follow the steps at http://ts.mcafeehelp...asp?docid=71525
Also see http://tools.mcafeeh...1541&support=ts
If you follow the manual removal instructions...please be extremely careful. I wouldn't recommend you follow them if you are uncomfortable with them. It is likely you just missed a item in "Add or Remove Programs" so look again.
Does this help?

Since you appear to be clean of malware now....I will go ahead and post my prevention speech. Do not disable System Restore if you are going to try to remove McAfee manually.

You need to prevent re-infection. I strongly recommend you take the following steps because infections are likely to reoccur unless you are protected (I post the same speech for everyone so you may have already taken some of these steps):
  • Disable then re-enable System Restore. This will delete your old restore points. Malware could get backed up in System Restore. To do so in Windows XP see this tutorial. To do so in Windows ME see this tutorial. (If you are using a different Operating System skip this step).

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest security patches from Microsoft. This step is VERY important. Please visit http://www.windowsupdate.com in Internet Explorer and if it asks to install software, let it. Start the scan for updates needed for your computer. Install all critical updates. When it prompts you to reboot, do so. Then repeat this process again until there are no more critical updates listed.
You can also access the Windows Update site at any time by going to "Tools" > "Windows Update" in Internet Explorer. Please check for updates frequently.

  • Install Antivirus software. It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. Two popular programs are AVG and Avast. Both have free versions for home users. Do not have more than one active antivirus at a time.

  • Install a Firewall. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. Please see Understanding and Using Firewalls. Do not use more than one firewall. If you are using Windows XP SP2 the rather poor Windows Firewall is enabled by default and you will need to disable it before installing another one.

  • Install Ad-aware and Spybot-S&D and scan with them regularly. They will each catch items the other may miss and can clean some of the leftovers off since you have just been cleansed of an infection. Spybot-S&D also has some good prevention features. See these links:
Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers
Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer

  • Install SpywareBlaster. SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs. See the link below:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

  • Install IE-SPYADS. This script will place an enormous number of web sites known to be abusive into Internet Explorer's "Restricted Zone". Any site in that list will be unable to run javascripts, java applets, set or read cookies or use ActiveX scripting. You still will be able to visit those sites but they will be very limited in what they can do.
Download it from HERE. Read the "ReadMe.txt" included with the download for help installing it. You will need to download new versions occasionally and uninstall the old version.

  • Keep these programs updated. If you do not they will not help you very much.

  • Read the doxdesk prevention article at http://www.doxdesk.c...prevention.html for some more tips to prevent infection.

Looks like this could be a new variant...

Go to "Start" > "Run."
In the box type regedit and hit <ENTER>.
When the registry editor pops up go to "File" > "Export."
At the bottom under "Export range" select "Selected branch" and copy the following to the box just below it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors

In the "File name" box type monitors.
In the "Save as type" box make sure "Registration Files (*.reg)" is selected.
Save it to your desktop.

Attach the "monitors.reg" file to your next post or open it in Notepad and post the full contents.

Do I still need the monitors file on my desktop? What do I do with it? I tried running ewido again and it closes itself with an error message before the scan is complete. I am guessing this is why I can't copy the log (I don't get to the prompt to the log because it never completes scanning). Here is my new HiJack log:

The purpose of the monitors.reg file was so that you could post the contents of it here. You can delete it now. You can also uninstall ewido if you cannot get it to work correctly.

Your log appears to be clean now. Have your problems stopped?
If they have you just need to follow the steps in my last post. Remember that you should only have one active antivirus installed at a time.

I was finally able to uninstall Mcafee manually through the link you posted. Also, ewido finally worked! I am posting the log as you requested so that you can make sure I am okay. Again, thank you for all of your help!!!!
