I right clicked on desktop, went on properties and settings, advanced, adapter properties and disabled device usage.

I then rebooted as instructed and now I dont have anything on my screen, the screen is blank, how can I repair this?

try booting into safe mode and then use system restore to go back before you played with the settings..
