I purchased a new PC with Realtek for audio(onboard), but I haven't gotten any sound. I do get sound, a very little if I do the following:
Go to sound effect manager and set it as 6 or 8CH Speakers. This gets me a very soft sound, I can't even hear it. It works for media player, but when I play a game, it only comes in through one ear, and it's very distant.
The headphone jack will get me no sound at all, and setting it to headphones/2CH speakers doesn't work either.
I've updated it, downloaded drivers, even asked for advice from some friends. No one could fix it.
I searched for an answer on google, but I only found people who did have sound with realtek, lost it, and were able to fix it. Nothing permanent though. I started with no sound, and I'm still stuck with that. Realtek never answered my e-mail either.
The only answer that I know will work is if I buy a new sound card, I'm just really disappointed that my new computer arrives with no sound.
Processor

If anyone knows what I can do to fix this, I'd be so grateful! I really don't know what to do anymore.
Thanks!
Just an update to this--
The headphone/mic jack don't seem to respond to anything. I'm guessing I now have no choice but to buy a card.
