cannot remove netgear wg511t wireless adapter

Hi,
i am using windows xp sp2. there seemed to be a problem with my wireless network so i wanted to unistall and install the adapter. when runnig the file from the cd i received it only removes the software but the software does not seemed to be removed.... it is still available on the control panel.also eveytime i run the setup file no install option is available. the installation version i have on the cd is v4.3 i have also tried to install the file downloaded from netgears website v4.4. any suggestion as to how to remove and install the adapter???

It seems like you're just uninstalling the software that goes along with the adapter. If you right click on my computer and go to properties, and then go to the hardware tab, you should be able to click device manager. Scroll down and find your adapter, and double click it. It will allow you to uninstall the adapter. Next time, when you restart the computer, it should detect the adapter again, and reinstall itself. However, I dont know if the adapter is the problem if your wireless problems. Try posting your problem in the networking section if it doesnt work.

i checked the device manager and the only problem is that it does not appear on the list. i will post on wireless networking...thanks.
