i have a toshiba satellite A100-TA4, its not to new or to old. Its a very reliable computer but the only thing im wondeirng is why my wireless connection is so weak? My brother has a dell xps and his wireless connection is so strong it can locate so many wireless connections around the univeristy campus.

Is there anyway i can improve my range?

THANKS GUYS!

The reason wireless range differs from PC to PC (even when the router is the same) is that not all wireless adaptors are equal in their pickup range. You need to choose a wireless adaptor with a wide range as opposed to standard range. This will be stated on the retail packaging. The 'RangeMax' wireless adaptors from Netgear are of the wide range type.
