My daughter has a Dell Inspiron with Windows xp, which has been acting sluggish and having problems with Internet Explorer crashing and freezing frequently. I ran a HijackThis file and it doesn't look right to me, but I'm reluctant to start deleting things without some expert help. I'm hoping that someone with some real experience can look at the attached HijackThis file and tel me what to fix and how.
Thanks ahead of time,

Skigeezer

Welcome to Geeks to Go. Your on the right website but unfortunatly the wrong forum. Please follow these steps:

Please go to the Malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Instructions to do before posting in the malware fourm.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Also if you want to learn how to fight malware with us. Check out This Thread.

Copy and paste the hijackthis log when you post. It is much easier to read than an attachment.
