Hi all, I have a work issued laptop. The Display Properties didn't show the Screensaver tab when I right click the desktop. It had somehow been disabled not to show.

I had found a fix in the Registry to now show this button but there are still no options to be able to choose my own screensaver or None at all. The Setting button options in the Screensaver box is greyed out. (ie, no dropdown box).

The screen goes into a slideshow of work-related propaganda Screensaver every 10mins on idle. What is the best way to disable the screensaver timeout option please and be able to select no screensaver? Also it asks for a password to come out of standby (ctrl+alt+del).

Welcome to G2G.

I would suspect that since this is a work laptop, that your IT department has "locked out" certain functions. These functions are done for a reason.

On my company laptop, I can't change the desktop. It is also set to download AND install all updates related to the unit.

I would contact your IT about this.

IT won't tell me how, we are not to play with it, but I want to at least disable the screensaver. The timeout disables dvd burning.
