Download Everest Home Edition: Everest.

Run the program and click "report". Click next and then select "Hardware related pages". Copy and paste what is under "summary" and "sensor" and report that information here.

How long had your computer been running when you ran Everest?

I think we should check your RAM first. Here is a guide to Memtest: Memtest Guide.

You can download Memtest here: Memtest.

If you have any problems let me know.

Let me make sure I understand this correctly. Your CPU fan stopped working. Then your CPU got hot enough it fried itself? Then you replaced the CPU?

If that is the case in there is a decent chance that the heat also damaged the socket on your motherboard. There is no reason in not testing the other parts first though.

Read on in the guide. You can use a CD. I don't have a floppy drive either, they aern't good for much anymore. Do you know if "the guy" replaced the processor or just the cooling unit?

Try downloading here: Memtest 86. If you have nero then you could also use that to burn the ISO.
