I have a DELL Dimension 9150 desktop computer. I have 2 DVD Drivers - one reader and one writer. I had no problems in the beginning and the computer was perfect. Now I can't burn CD's because my computer won't recognize blank CD's. It is alright with blank DVD's and CD's which contain something, but when I use Nero, the drive, which contains the CD, comes out and Nero tells me to put a blank CD in.

Help will be appreciated.

Make sure Nero is configured to use the drive which is capable of writing. What you describe is sometimes a symptom of Nero being configured to use the wrong drive for writing to. This is almost certainly your problem if other burning applications work okay but nero doesn't.
1. Open 'Nero Burning ROM'
2. Select 'New' for a new burning project.
3. In the toolbar of the main nero burning rom window you'll see a white bar showing which drive is currently selected as the drive to write to.
If this is wrong, click on the the drop-down arrow to select the correct drive (the writer).

You must also check other cd-writing applications in the nero suite (eg the 'CD copier') to ensure that the CD-writer is chosen as the "target" drive.

I've checked that stuff and I'm completely sure that it is not the problem. I always check the drive it writes too and it is correct. Besides, my DVD is put in the same drive and it works perfectly.

I read somewhere that if I don't update my drivers it could happend, but I can't find updates to my DELL Computer.
