Okay then.

I start up my computer.

After it asks if I want to load a CD/DVD I get the error

[codebox]A disc read error has occured.
Please press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.[/codebox]

Very descriptive, isn't it?

So, used the Vista installation DVD to run CHKDSK.

I can never get it to finish.

I'll get errors like:

[codebox]Readable file segment ##### is not writable.

OR

An unknown Error has occured.[/codebox]

Any suggestions?

---EDIT---

Oh, and when I try and hook it up using a USB case to a different computer, I get an error saying the drive needs to be forrmatted. When I try and run CHKDSK on it, it says the file system is RAW (but when I do it using my computer using the Vista DVD, it says NTFS)

Okay wekk, in case anyone was wondering, I finally got it to fix the disk...

Now it seems to be freezing at DMI pool data...

Hmm...and it is still RAW to my other computer...maybe a problem w/ the USB case?
