I was trying to play a DVD and it wasnt working so i downloaded this program, combined community codec whatever...http://www.cccp-project.net/

After downloading it and it didnt work, i wanted to listen to some music and i realized my sound/audio isnt working, ive removed the program but i think it has messed something up. How do i fix it? :whistling:

I have restarted a million times, downloaded the driver for my sound card again and it is still not working! help :whistling:

try uninstalling the sound card using the device manager...reboot and let windows "find" the new hardware and then reinstall the drivers...
for playing dvd movies get xp codec pack here and install it...

try system restore...go back at least a week before the problem started

I already did a system restore and went back early yesterday morning. Ill try the one from last week.

Well, i think because i havent used the laptop in about 6 months, i couldnt go past yesterday because thats when i started using it again. So i guess system restore wont work :whistling:

then start by getting all the windows updates for your computer...
then go to the computer manufactures website and get all the drivers for your make and model...
