Windows 2000 Terminal shares can be accessed but not seen

Sometimes on our network we are unable to see some network shares that are located on a Windows 2000 Terminal machine. The shares can still be accessed but they are no longer in view. This is solved by restarting the machine or stopping and re-starting the server service.

Why does this happen and how can I solve it?
