Okay, so I just got Vista and I'm so silly I accidentally deleted my Recycle Bin Shortcut on my desktop. I know how to get the shortcut back, in fact I already did that. But when you choose the icon, it stays that way. What I want to do with it is change the icon so that it is full when there is something in the Recycle Bin and empty when it doesn't have anything. How do I go about making the icon change back an forth without having to manually go into the Properties and change the one I want?

Thanks,
Rachael

choose an empty area on the desktop and right click. Select properties. When the Personalization windows appears, choose "change desktop icons" from the left hand pane.

WHen the new window opens, there will be several box's to check for the desktop shortcuts you want. Make sure Recycle Bin is selected. If it is, deselect and apply. Then reselect and apply. That should restore your settings back to normal.
